DAY 01

Cusco - Cusipata - Colored Mountain - Red Valley - Cusco

  • Very early in the morning, between 4:00 and 4:30 am. we will pick you up at your hotel and board the bus together with the whole group and the guide. We will travel a little more than 2 hours to the village of Quiquijana, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast based on local products, then we will continue our journey to the control point in Llaqta to start our hike.
  • Before starting the hike, our guide will give us some indications and recommendations, if you wish at that time, you have the option to rent a horse, on the way we will observe some llamas, alpacas and all the time, we will be surrounded by an awesome and beautiful landscape.
  • We will walk for about 1 hour and 30 minutes until, we reach the mountain of Vinicunca also called Mountain of Colors or Rainbow Mountain, which is at an altitude of 5,036 meters above sea level, the highest point of our journey.
  • At the highest part of the mountain, we will have a panoramic view of Vinicunca and the beautiful surrounding mountains, we will also see the snow-capped of Ausangate, one of the highest peaks in Peru.
  • After a brief explanation given by the guide, we will have time to take the necessary photos, and then start the hike along the Red Valley, it will last between 20 and 30 minutes.
  • We will arrive at the viewpoint of the Red Valley, located at more than 5,000 meters above sea level, where we will also take the necessary time to take pictures.
  • Then we will start the descent to the bus stop, where our driver will be waiting for us to take us to Quiquijana, where we will have lunch at a delicious Andean buffet, and at the end we will board the bus again to return to the city of Cusco, and end of the service.
