The Rainbow mountain and the Red Valley have become a mandatory destination for every visitor of Cusco, an experience that involves some effort but will be unforgettable, hike by these beautiful natural formations with us, a unique experience suitable for every adventurous spirit.

Itinerary

DIA 1: CUSCO – CUSIPATA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY – CUSCO

Very early in the morning, between 4 and 4:30 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel to board the bus. We will travel for 2 hours until the town of "Quiquijana" where we will taste a delicious buffet breakfast based on products from the region, then we will continue our journey to the control point in "Llaqta" to start our hike. You have the option of renting a horse.
Before starting the hike, our guide will give us some indications and recommendations, on the way we will observe some llamas, alpacas and all the time we will be surrounded by an imposing and beautiful landscape.
We will walk for about 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the Vinicunca mountain also called the Rainbow Mountain, which is at a height of 5,036 meters above sea level (more than 16,500 feet). In the highest part of the mountain we will have a panoramic view of Vinicunca and the surrounding mountains, in the background we will also see the snowy peak of Ausangate, one of the highest in Peru.
After a brief explanation given by the guide, we will have time to take the necessary photos, and then start the walk through the Red Valley, this walk will last between 20 and 30 minutes. We will arrive at the Red Valley viewpoint located at more than 5,000 meter over the sea level, where we will also take the necessary time to take more pics.
We will begin the descent to the bus stop where our driver will wait for us to take us to Quiquijana where we will have lunch, a delicious Andean buffet, at the end we will board the bus again to return to the city of Cusco, and end of the service.

Recommendations

The reservation must be made at least 2 days in advance, the confirmation is immediately.
This tour is not recommended for older adults, young children or people with severe signs of altitude sickness, respiratory problems, heart problems or any type of medical condition that prevents physical effort.
The tour is not canceled due to bad weather.
