Description

Located in the Vilcabamba mountain range near the snowy peaks of Salkantay and Humantay, without a doubt a beautiful and energetic place, an excursion that will leave you exhausted, but with a renewed spirit, dare to visit this beautiful place located a few hours from the city of Cusco, here we give you the details.

Itinerary

  • Between 3:30 and 4 in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel to board the bus and join the group, we will travel for about 3 hours to the town of Mollepata where we will taste a typical breakfast of the area. From our arrival we will be able to see beautiful landscapes surrounded by snow-capped peaks, from here we will see the Humantay snow-capped mountain and its imposing presence will welcome us. In Soraypampa area, we will start our walk, the guide will give us some instructions and we will start the walk ascending towards the Humantay lagoon.
  • We will walk about 1 hour and a half, when we reach the lagoon we will have enough time to enjoy the landscape, take pictures and in general enjoy the natural environment that surrounds us, we will do a small demonstration of how an offering was made to the "Apus" or spirits of the mountains in Inca times using some coca leaves.
  • Finishing this beautiful adventure we will begin the return trip to Cusco starting the walk again to descend to Soraypampa, where the bus awaits us to take us to Mollepata, we will rest and have lunch in this place, obviously enjoying regional dishes. At the end we will continue with the return trip to Cusco where we will arrive around 18:30 h.
