Description

This peculiar mountain formed by marine sediments, located at more than 5000 meters, awaits for you. Vinicunca has colors similar to a Rainbow, they have made it one of the most beautiful and visited places in Cusco, visit with us this beautiful natural place, we will take you through the new route, which is shorter, we include breakfast and lunch in one of the best restaurants in the area, in groups of 15 tourists max.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – CUSIPATA – VINICUNCA - CUSCO

We will start the tour between 4 and 4:30 am picking you up from your hotel to board the tourist bus, we will start the trip to the town of "Quiquijana" where we will have a small breakfast in a local restaurant, then we will continue the trip by bus until the exact hiking departure area, the town of Cusipata, you can also rent a horse if you prefer, keep in mind that the horse is not included in the price.
With the tour guide's instructions we will start the walk that lasts 1:30 min approx. On the way we will see some llamas, alpacas and local people wearing their typical costumes, the top is on 5036 meters above sea level, precautions must be taken in case you suffer any discomfort due to the height, bring some coca leafs that will a good idea.
From the top you will have an impressive view, not only of the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain, also of the Ausangate chain of snowy mountains, which is one of the highest snow-capped peaks in Peru, we will be in the place about 30 minutes so you can take the photos you want and recharge yourself with the energy of the place, then we will return to Quiquijana where we will have lunch in one of the best restaurants in the town, after the buffet lunch we will start the return to Cusco where we will end the tour.

Recommendations

The reservation must be made at least 2 days in advance.
The hike is a bit dificult, so it is not recommended for people with any type of disability, respiratory or heart problems or any medical condition that prevents physical exertion.
It is also not recommended in case the tourist has symptoms of altitude sickness or soroche, we recommend waiting a few days, drinking lots of liquids and coca tea. After a few days of acclimatization you will be able to do the tour without any problems.
The excursion is not canceled due to bad weather.

What to bring

Take a small backpack with you to carry your personal documents and what you may need such as personal documents, sunglasses, sunscreen, and some water bottles.
You should wear warm but light clothing appropriate for hiking, including footwear suitable for hiking too, a sun hat or cap.
Bring a rain coat with you if you travel between Dicember and April.
Take some local money with you for buying handicrafts or extra bottles of water.
